+ Are the Inspired LED kits easy to install?

Our kits come with everything you need to install in minutes, including the light strips with double backed adhesive, cables, power supply(s), switch(es), cable clamps, and optional screws. Our system is modular, and accessories are interchangeable. All components and accessories can be purchased separately or in a kit. You can add on to your kit at anytime by purchasing additional components.

+ How long will the LEDs last?

The manufacturers of the LEDs indicate that life span of the lights is over 100,000 hours (more than 10 years). We have not had any failures of LEDs to date!

+ Do you have LEDs in colors?

We currently have cool white, warm white, blue, green, and red LEDs. We also have some RGB flex strip lighting!

+ What is the difference between warm white and cool white?

- Warm white is similar to incandescent light, with a color temperature of 3200K.
- Cool white is similar to fluorescent light, with a color temperature of 6500K.

+ What is the difference between bright, super bright, and ultra bright flexible lights?
- Normal Bright: an LED every 1.25 inches
  • Great accent light, not over-powering for above cabinet lighting, glass cabinet lighting, cove and kick lighting, display lighting or back lighting. Available in warm or cool white, red, green, and blue.
- Super Bright: an LED every 0.625 inches
  • Perfect choice for kitchen under cabinet lighting, shelves, display cabinets, signage, and entertainment centers. Available in warm or cool white, red, green, and blue.
- Ultra Bright: an LED every 0.375 inches
  • When too much light is just right. Great for task lighting, office, garage, jewelry cases, small kitchen cabinets, toy haulers, and safes. Available in warm or cool white.

+ What is the difference between all of your LED panels and LED strips you offer?

- The Pro Series 21 and 42 LED Panels are thin, rigid light panels. Each panel has two double-sided adhesive pads with optional screw mounting. Both 21 and 42 LED Panels are off the shelf items.
- The Designer Series Panels are identical to the Pro Series panels, except they have a housing that creates a more finished look with increased durability. The 10” and 18” Designer Panels are off the shelf items, however we also offer custom lengths up to 72”.
- The flexible strips are thinner than our other LED products and have adhesive backing, which allows for quick and painless installation. Flexible strips come in 3 different brightness levels, with ultra bright being the closest to the Pro Series 21 & 42 LED and Designer Series. All flexible strips are made to any length you need.

+ What are the dimensions of the Inspired LED Panels?

- Our Pro Series 21 LED panels are 8.75” x .050” x 0.30”, and weigh 0.4 oz each.
- Our Pro Series 42 LED panels are 16.75” x 0.50” x 0.30” and weigh 0.7 oz each.
- Our 10” designer series panels are 10” x 0.87” x 0.75” and weigh 1.1 oz each.
- Our 18” designer series panels are 18” x 0.87” x 0.75” and weigh 1.9 oz each.
- Our flex strips are ½” wide x (custom lengths to your spec).
- Our custom designer series panels are (custom lengths to your specs) x 0.87" x 0.75".

+ Do you make custom lights similar to Pro Series 21/42 LED panels?

- The closest lights we have to custom 21 and 42 LED panels are the ultra bright flexible strips. They aren’t rigid like the 21/42 LED panels, however they give off the same light and are made in custom lengths.

+ How hot do your LED lights get?
- LEDs generate a very small amount of heat and are much safer than light bulbs. You can handle them without worry, even after they have been plugged in for days.
+ Do you offer puck lights?
- We do not offer puck lights on our website at this time. If you need puck lighting, please call us at (480) 941-4286.
+ What is the difference between cables and in wall cables?

+ Do you have spec sheets about your products?

Technical and Installation Questions

+ I have NO idea of where to start. What do I do?

- Our kits are perfect for starters and come with all power supplies and accessories you may need.
- You can also email us at design@inspiredled.com with a description of your application, digital pictures or drawings (if available), your phone number, and best time to call, and someone will get back to you within 1-2 business days.

+ How many light panels do I need?

Depending on how much light you desire, you may only need one 8.5” or 18” light panel for each 24” – 36” cabinet. Some clients connect them end to end, and sometimes in multiple parallel rows, depending on desired effect and brightness. Ordering additional pieces from Inspired LED, or one of our distributors, can easily expand your lighting system. All components and accessories are sold separately as well as in kits for easy expansion.

+ How do I know what power supplies I need?
- Please refer to the chart below. If you need more help, please contact us!

+ How can I dim my LED lights?
- If you are trying to dim your lights via a wall dimmer, you will need dimmable transformer. The wall dimmer needs to be a compatible magnetic low voltage dimmer, which can usually be found at your local hardware store or online. Please see the list of approved wall dimmers here. **Also, we are now selling Lutron DVLV-600P-WH Diva Magnetic Low-Voltage Single-Pole Dimmers for a limited time- they are compatible with all of our dimmable transformers.**

- If you are using a power supply that plugs into a standard outlet, you can easily put a push button dimmer in between your power supply and your first light panel.

+ Do you have magnetic low voltage dimmers in stock? Which wall dimmers can I use with your dimmable transformers?
- We are now selling Lutron DVLV-600P-WH Diva Magnetic Low-Voltage Single-Pole Dimmers for your convenience- they are compatible with all of our dimmable transformers and we carry them in white, ivory, light almond, brown, and black. If you decide otherwise, you can usually find these to purchase online. A list of approved wall dimmers can be found here. If you don't use a dimmer on the list with our dimmable transformer, we can't guarantee that the two will be compatible.
+ Can I hardwire my lights?
- Yes, you have three different options:
  1. Wire the wall switch to a switched outlet and plug in a power supply. If you would like your lights to be dimmed, just add a push button dimmer or remote controlled dimmer after the power supply.
  2. If you have existing wires under your cabinets, use a convenience box and a mini power supply. If you would like your lights to be dimmed, just add a push button dimmer or remote controlled dimmer after the power supply.
  3. Wire a magnetic low voltage wall dimmer to one of our dimmable transformers. Wire nut one of our interconnect cables or in-wall cables to the transformer and then to your Inspired LED light panels.
+ Can I use the existing wires under the cabinets from my old fluorescent lights?
- You can utilize the wiring from your old fluorescent lights to power these LED lights.
- You will have to transform the power on these lines from 120VAC to 12VDC, once that is accomplished you can plug those wires directly into our lights using either our screw terminal connectors, or by cutting and splicing one of our interconnect cables to the existing wire.
- Converting to 12VDC is accomplished with use of our dimmable transformer between the switch and under cabinet locations (see figure below). The transformer must be controlled by an Analog Magnetic Low Voltage Dimmer, we recommend either the DVLV600 or AYLV600, both by Lutron. We carry the DVLV600 in white - but if you need another style or color, feel free to get it elsewhere
+ What length of flexible strips or custom designers should I get?
- Measure the total length of area that you need to light AND subtract 1.5” on each side for interconnect cable or power supply installation. The ends of the interconnect cables and power supplies are rigid. If you do not leave room at the end of each strip, you will not be able to connect them or power them. Also, the ends of the flexible strips are sensitive, so you run the risk of breaking the solder on your strip- This means a broken LED strip!
+ I need different cables than what the kits offer. Can I change them?
- Of course! You can choose any combination of cables equal to the number of cables in your kit. Please add a note at check out mentioning what cables you need or email us directly after ordering. You can choose from 4”, 1’, 2’, 3’, 6’, and 12’ cables.
+ If I order a kit and decide I need more light panels, is it easy to add them on later?
- Yes, all of our kits are fully modular. Just make sure that your power supply is large enough to handle the extra panels
+ Can I cut or solder my own strips and cables?
- We can make anything you need in our shop, however you are more than welcome to do this yourself. If you would like to cut your own strips, only cut at the copper pads (every 3 LEDs). Please see the instructions sheet for more information.
+ Can I use multiple wireless dimmers on the same frequency?
- Yes you can use multiple wireless dimmers on the same frequency. The wireless dimmers come with instructions on how to program them.
+ Do you have any tutorials on how to install products?
- Please visit our video page or Youtube channel for installation videos, or see our spec sheets for help. If you still need assistance please email us at info@inspiredled.com or contact us via Live Chat
+ I have Ikea cabinets. What is the best way to light them?
- Flexible strips run perfectly under the flat surfaces of Ikea cabinets. Typically, customers enjoy ultra bright flexible strips for under cabinet lighting and normal bright flexible strips for glass cabinet and cove lighting.
